Acceptance is self-care.

Practicing acceptance is an integral lesson to learn as a human. There will often be circumstances outside of our control that we may waste valuable time & energy worrying ourselves about.
Let’s say you’re running late to work or school, and catch yourself behind someone driving 20mph under the speed limit. You may reflect and really wish you had left earlier, or may wish for the other person to drive faster.
There are some things we will never be able to entirely control, including:
⏰The past
🤷🏻♀️The exact outcome of any situation
🧐The perspective of others
🌀The fact that change is inevitable
🐍The behavior of others
(to name a few).
We can yell or cry about situations outside of our control. The emotion is valid. We can keep trying to control what we will never be able to ~ or focus our attention wisely & compassionately on what is within our control (including: the boundaries we set with ourselves and others, our peace, our energy).
Protect your energy as if it’s your most prized possession.
🩷✌️✨
